The goal of the project is to create the institutionalized cooperation between the region of Békéscsaba, Gyula and Békés towns – known in the regional development as Mid-Békés Centrum (KBC) – and Arad Town. The municipalties of the three towns concerned founded the applying Mid-Békés Territory Development Municipal Association in 1997 in order to provide a legal entity for their common development policy and to be able to act commonly in the cross-border partnerships. Our project intends to play a pioneering role through the following activities:

  1. Establishing the KBC-Arad Development Agency operated by the Mid-Békés Territorial Development Municipal Association
  2. Elaborating a common development strategy, laying the corner-stone of the euroregional cooperation in the future
  3. Sharing the experiences of the utilization of the European Structural and Cohesion Funds in Hungary and the incentives for the enterprises in Rumania
  4. Continuous communication about the KBC-Arad cross-border cooperation
  5. Generating new programs, organizing partnerships, mediation, expanding the KBC projects with cross-border effect to the Rumanian side of the border (finding possible partners, preparation, elaborating the necessary studies etc), with emphasis on: a) developing institutes financed by municipalties to create a system of eco-economy and bio-food production
    b) elaborating KBC-Arad common program packages about health and eco-tourism (wellness programs, cycling and water tourism)

Our partner beyond the border is CNIPMMR (Consiliul National Intreprinderilor Private Mici si Miilocii din Romania- Filiala Arad / National Council of Small and Medium Enterprises in Romania, Arad Office) which has extended connections and cross-border experiences in the Arad region, and its management is very dynamic. This partner of us leads us to the enterprises, municipalties, organizations in Arad and its region. In completing our tasks we found ourselves on the chambers, the non-professional associations, the local and the regional municipalties and the Tourinform office network both on the Rumanian and the Hungarian sides of the border.
